Danis Fickewirth is an American investor and entrepreneur, and the founder of Alafina Capital. He takes an active role in developing businesses in Moldova. His responsibilities include investment decisions, strategic planning, negotiations, and oversight. He is developing Ileana Foods, a food-manufacturing business in Chișinău; owns the real-estate company Zidara Group; and is a co-owner and investor in Pro Business International SRL, the exclusive distributor of SKYA in Moldova. His local business partner is Sergiu Hîrbu. Earlier technology ventures in Chișinău included Aroundwire and Force Wind. His introduction to Moldova came through a software developer from Hîncești whom he hired in Los Angeles. He has since made more than 20 extended visits, including several entire summers, and developed lasting friendships and business relationships. His wife and daughter have visited too and love the country. Meeting Kapushon at a concert event in Las Vegas led to a musical collaboration. Fickewirth executive-produced the entire “Rapfonie de iarnă” album, worked on production and co-wrote the script for “Când moldovenii au pornit prin lume” (2025), and contributed the idea, initiative, and project production for “Galbenă Moldovă” (2026). He supports the Old Chișinău project. His collection of historic photographs and postcards of the city is on Bessarabica, where it is available for anyone to explore. He graduated from California State University, Northridge, in 2011 with an honors BSBA, a double major in Management and Marketing, and a minor in Economics. He served as president of the university’s American Marketing Association chapter. He is in his third year of studying Romanian. At an intermediate level, he can follow conversations and read documents. He continues lessons by video with his teacher from Anenii Noi.
